FLYING WINGER TOUNEKTI IS HOPING FOR LIFT OFF AFTER STURM VICTORY

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

BRENDAN RODGERS has been like a Bhoy scout rubbing two sticks together in the rain this season in his attempts to light a fire under his Celts.

But wide man Sebastian Tounekti is convinced the smoking display against Sturm Graz might be the big match the Hoops needed to get the flames roaring again.

The Parkhead side have barely been smouldering this season, with struggles to catch light in the final third leading to troubles finding the net.

Tounekti's instant impact has been one of the few bright spots so far and the Tunisian attacker was sparkling again in Thursday's crucial 2-1 Europa League win against the Austrian Bundesliga leaders.

Celts were good value for the win - and would have totally scorched Sturm Graz if they were more clinical.

But Tounekti saw it is a turning point and he's hoping the Hoops can can keep up the heat against Hearts on Sunday.

He said: “A win like this could be a spark for the team. I hope every player takes the positives from this and keeps going.

“There are more important games coming up. Hopefully we can use this as an inspiration.
