Two-goal Woltemade looking forward to a Wissa wonderland pairing during packed programme

- BY LEE RYDER

NICK WOLTEMADE is eagerly anticipating forming a potent partnership with Yoane Wissa after another game passed by without the pair sharing the stage.

Woltemade and Wissa are like ships in the night at the moment, with head coach Eddie Howe looking to rotate the pair in his frontline. However, with the games now coming thick and fast, and Newcastle facing tough trips to Manchester United and Burnley over the festive period, a change in tactics may be needed.

The Germany striker scored twice against Chelsea on Saturday in the 2-2 draw at St James' Park but is rubbing his hands at the prospect of starring with Wissa.

"It's good and we now have a lot of games every three days now. In January we have nine games," said the Toon striker.

"It is good that we have quality players to come in. It is what we need. We can play together and now we are in the situation where we are both fit and I hope it stays like this."
