Whatever happens with me, I couldn't care less - Wane

ENGLAND head coach Shaun Wane says he “couldn't care less” about his own future, insisting his only focus is on avoiding a series whitewash against Australia.

The Kangaroos sealed the Ashes with a 14-4 victory at Hill Dickinson Stadium, adding to their 26-6 win in the opening Test at Wembley.

Harry Smith kicked England's only points through two penalties, while Australia crossed twice in the second half through Cameron Munster and Hudson Young in Liverpool.

England, who travel down under for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup next year, have now lost the series with one Test remaining - but Wane says he's not thinking about job security. He has been in charge since 2020, succeeding Wayne Bennett, and has led England to series wins over Tonga and Samoa, while they fell to a heartbreaking World Cup semifinal defeat on home soil in 2022.

“I'm really hurt at the moment.” England have scored just one try across 160 minutes, with Daryl Clark having barged his way over from dummy-half in the 26-6 loss at Wembley.
