Still time for Labour to lead on Europe

A LETTER in another regional newspaper is claiming “12 per cent economic growth since Brexit,” citing the Eurosceptic group CIBUK.

But that figure uses nominal GDP (unadjusted for inflation) measured from 2016, not real GDP from the actual 2020 exit - making it largely meaningless to economists.

It's another example of how some still want us to believe that - contrary to actual, verifiable evidence - Brexit hasn’t been a dreadful failure and catastrophe for our country that needs reversing.

I imagine few Hull Daily Mail readers will have heard of CIBUK, let alone be members of its £1,000-a-month Platinum Members Club, which its website says offers “special privileges” to those “who can afford to make a big difference.”
