COUNCIL IS ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO 'REPORT THOSE WHO DO NOT DISPOSE OF THEIR WASTE LEGALLY'
FIVE people have been left with bills totalling almost £4,000 after being convicted of fly-tipping in Hull.
The waste, including bin bags, a mattress, and furniture, was illegally dumped on the city's streets.
Hull City Council is continuing to warn residents to dispose of their waste legally to avoid facing enforcement action. Councillor Charles Quinn, portfolio holder for environment, said: "Fly-tipping is a crime and we do not tolerate it in Hull. It is unsightly, potentially harmful to human health and damaging to the environment.
"We urge residents to dispose of their waste in the correct way using our accessible services, schemes, and household waste centres across the city. We also encourage residents to report those who do not dispose of their waste legally."
