Esmée flying the flag for East Yorkshire at national contest

BEVERLEY girl Esmée Twidale has won a place in the grand final of Miss Junior Teen Great Britain, beating hundreds of other contestants across the UK.

Esmée, 14, will represent Beverley and East Yorkshire after being awarded the title Miss Junior Teen East Yorkshire. A student at Beverley High School, Esmée has been supported by friends and the local community to reach this stage and said she is grateful to all of those who have contributed to her journey so far.

She said: "I am really looking forward to being a positive role model for other young people across East Yorkshire and hope I can make a difference in the local community and for the charities I am supporting."

Esmée said she had wanted to enter the competition for many years, so reaching the final after applying for the first time was "a dream come true".
