Beverley see off Hullensians threat

BEVERLEY RUFC secured their first win of the season in the National Cup competition, playing in the pouring rain at Hullensians RUFC, a notoriously challenging venue for any visiting team.

The game was definitively a tale of two halves, but it was the Beavers that romped home victorious 24-12.

The first half was all Hullensians, who camped in the Beavers’ half, but the visitors resolute defending was impressive and to be only 12-0 down at halftime was a significant achievement.

Huge shifts were put in by the forward pack who, at times, felt they were also playing against the referee.
