Instead Of criminals, they are targeting Our MLAs

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government for alleged inaction on law-and-order issues in Delhi, and defended AAP legislator Naresh Balyan — arrested in connection with an extortion case — and claimed that the Uttam Nagar lawmaker was a victim of gangsters.

However, the BJP dismissed Kejriwal's remarks as being "politically desperate".

The AAP chief's remarks came a day after a man hurled an unidentified liquid on him during a foot march in Savitri Nagar, sparking a security scare. Later on Saturday, Balyan was arrested by the Delhi Police crime branch after the BJP shared a five-minute audio clip, purportedly of a conversation between the AAP leader and fugitive gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu.

On Sunday, Kejriwal said that the Delhi Police, instead of taking action against criminals, was targeting an AAP MLA who filed a complaint against gangsters.
