Excise case: Court allows two accused to turn approvers

A Delhi court on Tuesday allowed Raghav Magunta and Dinesh Arora to become approvers for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in its money laundering probe related to alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy 2020-21.
Magunta, son of YSR Congress leader Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy, and Arora, a businessman and alleged aide of jailed former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, were also granted pardon in the case by special judge MK Nagpal. The two will now no longer be prosecuted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), which bears a maximum punishment of seven years.
