Contractor beats worker to death for seeking pay

A 40-year-old man died and his co-worker was injured upon allegedly being thrashed by their employer and his aides when they went to ask for unpaid wages on Thursday, police said.
The contractor and two others are alleged to have beaten the two workers with sticks and a screwdriver, police said on Sunday, Contractor Rakesh Guddu, his brother Jitendra Singh and their friend Raj Kumar have been arrested for assault and confinement, police said.
Sections of murder are to be added to the FIR, they added.
The victim, Mahesh Ram, and his friend Rohit Baleshwar, 29, are labourers who live in Indira Camp in east Delhi's Trilokpuri. Baleshwar said that the two had been looking for work and were hired as cleaners by Guddu.
