Assam woman stabbed to death by stalker: Cops

A 25-year-old woman died on Thursday after a man who was allegedly stalking her stabbed her in Guwahati, police officials said, adding that the man later tried to die by suicide.
The man, identified as Bhupen Das, stabbed the woman multiple times in Hatigaon city of Guwahati at around 11 am on Thursday when she was about to board a two-wheeler outside her rented residence, officials of the Assam police's special task force said.
"She was taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where she succumbed to injuries," STF inspector general Parthasarathi Mahanta said.
