The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court on Friday issued notices to the high court administration, the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh, the Central Bar Association, and the state government, seeking their responses in a case where a lawyer's chamber on the old high court premises was allegedly being used as an unauthorised marriage centre.
A division bench of Justice AR Masoodi and Justice Shree Praksh Singh passed the order on Friday on a suo motu public interest litigation(PIL) petition. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for July 22.
