Three girls gang-raped in Khunti, 18 held

Police arrested 18 minor boys for allegedly gang-raping three girls returning from a marriage function in Urikel village in Khunti district on Friday, officials familiar with the matter said on Monday.

According to police, the survivors and the accused are all aged between 10 and 16 years, and the incident occurred late Friday night at around 10 p.m. Khunti superintendent of police (SP) Aman Kumar confirmed the incident. "The matter will be dealt with under the Juvenile Justice Act," SP Kumar said, refusing to divulge further details.
