A section of tribal people on Sunday burned an effigy of chief minister Hemant Soren at Albert Ekka Chowk in Ranchi to protest against the beginning of construction of a flyover ramp in front of Sirom Toli Sarna Sthal in the state capital, people familiar with the developments said.

One of the protesters, Niranjana Herenj Toppo, told Hindustan Times that all tribes cutting across political barriers had come together to burn the effigy of the chief minister.
