Muslims groups stage protest over amendments to Waqf Act

Members of the Muslim community, under the aegis of the All Muslim Youth Association (AMYA), staged a demonstration in front of Raj Bhawan on Sunday, demanding the withdrawal of the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025, which came into force on April 8.
RANCHI:
The demonstration started at noon till 2.30 pm and witnessed participation from Idar-e-Sharia, Imarat-e-Sharia, Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind, Central Anjuman Kanke, Block Anjuman (Ratu), Anjuman Islamia Mandar, All Jharkhand Ekta Manch, Saher Anjuman (Nagdi), and Momin Chaurasi Panchayat (Ranchi). In addition, representatives of many social organisations and hundreds of people were present during the demonstration.
Leading the protest, AMYA president S. Ali said the amendment to the Waqf Act is unconstitutional.
