Man gets 3 yrs in jail for sexual assault on minor

The special POCSO court in Darbhanga, presided over by judge Protima Parihar, on Monday sentenced Shankar Paswan from a village under Keoti police station area, to three years of imprisonment along with a fine of ₹25,000 for sexually assaulting a minor and using criminal force to outrage her modesty.

The court directed that the fine amount be paid to the victim as compensation. Additionally, the judge ordered that the victim be provided ₹3 lakh from the Bihar Victim Compensation Scheme through the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), said Santosh Kumar Singh, the advocate representing the complainant.
