The Jharkhand high court on Thursday stayed the investigation into an FIR (first information report) registered against Godda MP Nishikant Dubey's wife, Anamika Gautam, and three others under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 316, 318, 336, 338, 339, 340, and 61(2), at Jasidih police station in Deoghar district on July 21, people familiar with the matter said.
Police registered the FIR based on a complaint by Deoghar resident and Paritran Trust secretary Shivdutta Sharma, who alleged that Anamika Gautam, businessmen Bimal Agarwal and Punit Agarwal, and Gautam’s close associate Devta Kumar Pandey —all office-bearers of Baba Baidyanath Medical Trust — committed fraud by using documents issued in favour of Paritran Trust to secure approval under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, for establishing a new medical college with 150 MBBS seats from the 2025-26 academic session.
