RANCHI:

A BSL employee said the action was taken after the land record went missing from company records.

The employee added that as part of his initiative to trace the missing land records, DFO Kumar has written a letter to BSL acting director Birendra Kumar Tiwari.

"The letter, dated February 1, 2025, shared details of the forest land transferred to BSL in 1962 and also informed him about the BSL land that the company disowned without completing legal formalities," the employee said.

A forest department official close to the matter stated that the DFO, through his letter, informed BSL that 1,535.40 acres of forest land were transferred to BSL in 1962. In 1969, BSL expressed its intent to return 245.43 acres of land, but the transfer could not be completed.
