BHSA Doctors Demand 'Leave Reserve Posts'

The Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA) has demanded creation of leave reserve posts, which are positions set aside to make up for temporary absence of employees due to any leave, training, deputation or other reasons, and filling up all vacant positions of general and specialist medical officers in its cadre, said Dr Rohit Kumar, who was named the new secretary of the association on Sunday.

Dr Kumar said every year many general duty medical officers (GDMO), who were MBBS doctors in Bihar health services cadre, qualified for three-year postgraduation (PG) course and went on study leave, leaving a deficit of doctors.
