10-yr-old kidnapped in broad daylight in Ranchi, rescued later

A 10-year-old girl on her way to school in an e-rick-shaw was abducted at gunpoint by four masked men from Ranchi’s Sirom Toli flyover on Wednesday morning, but was rescued within two hours, police said, adding that all the accused have been arrested.

According to police, the incident took place at 7:30 am when the four kidnappers, riding ina car, reached the flyover and asked for the e-rickshaw to stop.

“Two of the four kidnappers got out of the car and fired two rounds before they captured my daughter and took her with them. They covered her face after abducting her,” the girl's father, a fruit dealer in the city, told Hindustan Times outside the Chutia police station.
