Shriram Finance Ltd. plans to enter the payments business by offering mobile wallets and prepaid cards as the shadow lender seeks to diversify its offerings and boost earnings.

The company is currently targeting only its existing customers for the payments services to be launched next quarter, executive vice chairman Umesh Revankar said in an interview to Bloomberg News. "We have a large customer base, and we feel they will be more comfortable with this, and we can track our customers' transactions."
