JAIPUR:

With this, the number of suicides reported from across the coaching hubs of Rajasthan touched 23 this year. Among these, 20 suicides have been reported in Kota, two in Sikar and one in Jaipur. Last year, 27 students, who were preparing for various competitive examinations, died by suicide in the state.

According to police, the student arrived in Sikar two years ago and was preparing for NEET at a reputed coaching institute. "She was staying in a rented accommodation at Mohalla Naykan in Sikar. The matter came to the light when the landlord knocked on the door several times on Sunday night, but failed to get any response. The landlord alerted police who broke open the door. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan," said a police officer on condition of anonymity.

The officer added that no suicide note was recovered from the room.
