4 Days On, Sajjangarh Blaze Rages

The fire in Sajjangarh Sanctuary, Udaipur, continues to rage for the fourth consecutive day, as authorities are yet to bring it under control.

UDAIPUR: On Thursday, the fire was concentrated in Bhairu Bagh and surrounding areas near the sanctuary. On Friday, the flames are spreading towards the high hills of Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace.

Due to the ongoing fire, tourist entry to Monsoon Palace and the Biological Park has been restricted for the second consecutive day. A total of 14 fire brigades are continuously working to extinguish the flames. Officials claim that dry grass is fuelling the fire, making it difficult to contain.

It was on March 4 when the fire erupted, and slowly in the next two days it spread to multiple locations, requiring extensive efforts from authorities to bring it under control. The residential areas near the sanctuary were evacuated, and senior officials, including the Collector, SP, and DFO, personally supervised the rescue operations.
