Rushdie stabbing trial now in closing stages

Lawyers delivered closing arguments on Friday in the trial of Hadi Matar, a New Jersey man accused of trying to kill Salman Rushdie in a 2022 knife attack that left the author blind in one eye and with other serious injuries, on a New York lecture stage.
MAYVILLE:
Matar, 27, faces attempted murder and assault charges and could get up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Prosecutor Jason Schmidt showed the jury slow-motion footage of Matar rushing the stage, calling the attack "unprovoked" and "targeted."
