Man arrested in TRF funding probe: NIA

NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a resident of Handwara in Jammu and Kashmir and intensively interrogated him in connection with the funding of The Resistance Front (TRF) — seen as a proxy outfit of the Lashkar-eTaiba (LeT) — that is also involved in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack which claimed 26 lives, people familiar with the development said on Sunday.
Shafat Maqbool Wani, an officer said, was arrested last week under sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and questioned for six days from June 28 to July 3 by NIA’s Jammu unit, which is also investigating the Pahalgam
