Indian-origin US govt worker asked about immigration status, Mamdani

An Indian-American man who works for the government of the US state of Illinois was questioned about his immigration status while working on a construction project in the state — and asked about incoming New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the Chicago Sun Times reported.
The incident took place on Friday morning when the department of transportation employee was stopped and questioned by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents while working on the Busse Highway resurfacing project, the Chicago Sun Times reported.
