IT IS A BIG UNIVERSITY WITH JURISDICTION OVER 25 CONSTITUENT COLLEGES OF PATNA & NALANDA

- Arun Kumar

PATNA: Nearly 25 candidates are in the race for the post of vice-chancellor of Pataliputra University, one of the three universities that the Nitish Kumar government had formed in 2018 with the objective of improving the higher education scenario in the state.

The interaction of the shortlisted candidates, including working as well as former V-Cs from different universities and principals, was held with the search committee at the Raj Bhawan on Sunday. There are some candidates from outside the state as well.

After the interaction, a panel of five names will be prepared and one of them will be appointed by the Chancellor in consultation with the state government.

Pataliputra University has been under the additional charge of Aryabhatt Knowledge University (AKU) V-C Sharad Kumar Yadav since January 15 this year, after the end of the tenure of former V-C RK Singh a day earlier, though it also has a pro-V-C.
