Apart from political rallies, major parties in the state are now busy reaching out to women, youths, physically challenged and workers from unorganised sectors by organising conferences in the state capital in a bid to woo them ahead of the crucial assembly polls slated later this year.

PATNA:

The principal opposition RJD appears to have taken a lead in setting this trend with opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav having addressed several such events in past one week.

On March 5th, the 36-year-old Yadav scion addressed a 'Yuva Choupal' to address youths in the state capital followed by 'Divyang Adhikar Sammelan' on March 7th where he addressed a large gathering of physically challenged people including women and youths.

On Saturday, Yadav also addressed a women's conference on the occasion of International Women's Day in Patna.

Yadav, who is eying to win the assembly polls, is giving a simple message at these conferences that the present dispensation led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar needs to be replaced by a 'newer one' by asserting that the present government had become a 'khatara gadi', a jab aimed at CM Kumar for apparently not being in control of the administration.

The RJD leader also has made certain new promises at these conferences like setting up of a separate ministry for looking into the issues of disabled, setting up of a commission for disabled, introducing 100 percent domicile policy in state jobs and also giving ₹2,500 to poor women and girls from deprived sections and increasing the pension for disabled from ₹400 to ₹1,500, if he is voted to power.
