3,000 Voters Apply For Home Voting, Last Date Is Jan 15

Nearly 3,000 eligible voters have so far opted for home voting for the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections, poll officials said on Monday.

NEW DELHI: Chief minister Atishi held a roadshow on Monday in her assembly constituency Kalkaji before she had planned to file her nomination papers for the upcoming assembly elections. However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader missed the day's deadline due to the "long" event and will now file her nomination on Tuesday, party members said.

The last date of filing nominations for the February 5 assembly elections is January 17.

The Kalkaji candidate began the day around noon with a visit to a gurdwara along with AAP leader Manish Sisodia at Giri Nagar. After the visit, the two got on a van and started the hours-long roadshow around 12.20pm.

Before the roadshow began, party workers shouted slogans in support of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Sisodia and Atishi. Soon, hundreds of party workers and residents joined in while holding flags and wearing caps and scarves with the party's name on them.
