MUMBAI: The suspected masterminds of the Torres Jewellery scam, several Ukrainians who have fled overseas, are believed to have launched a similar jewellery investment scam in Bulgaria. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police has conveyed this to the Bulgarian government via the Indian government, stating that the absconding accused are believed to have opened stores in Bulgaria, where they could defraud investors just as they did through its chain of showrooms in and around Mumbai.
