Padma awardee booked for rape

Padma Shri awardee and Bharat Sevashram Sangha seer Swami Pradiptananda, also known as Kartik Maharaj, has been booked for raping a woman on pretext of giving her a job, police said late on Thursday.

According to the complaint lodged by the victim at the Lalbagh police station, the incident took place in 2013 in Murshidabad district of West Bengal.
