WPL: UP Warriorz Must Up the Ante to Remain in Hunt
Hindustan Times Lucknow
|March 03, 2025
It would be a different kind of pressure on skipper Deepti Sharma as she hasn't done something extraordinary for her side UP Warriorz in the ongoing third season of the Women's Premier League.
LUCKNOW: Just 88 runs with 39 being her best at an average of 17.60 and four wickets with an economy of 7.94 in five matches are what all-rounder Deepti has done so far.
With just three more matches to go in the league phase before the Play Offs, Deepti and Co will have to make full use of the home advantage as they will be playing the remaining matches on the home turf here.
For sure, Deepti would be required to up the ante and secure wins in all three matches here at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium with the first one to be played on Monday against Gujarat Giants, who would also be aiming for a turnaround against the hosts.
