["Shah attacks AAP's 'poison' charge", "Congress leader attacks 'India' partner"]
NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday attacked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal for his allegations on Haryana "poisoning" the Yamuna. Accusing Kejriwal of "spreading lies", Shah asked him to submit official records to support his claims.
Kejriwal's allegations on the Yamuna was a constant theme of his speeches at two roadshows in Govindpuri and Madanpuri and a congregation at Kasturba Nagar on the day.
Shah said, "I saw Arvind Kejriwal had made some allegations that Haryana was poisoning the Yamuna water in Delhi. I want to ask the people of Kalkaji, have any of you received poisoned water in your homes? I also want to ask Kejriwal three questions. First, make the Delhi Jal Board report public that shows Yamuna water is poisoned and we will take action. Secondly, what kind of poison or chemical is this? I want you to name it and thirdly, you said you stopped the water supply and saved the people of Delhi. I want to see the official order where you halted the supply." He also alleged that by making the allegations, Kejriwal created panic among the public. "Winning or losing the elections is normal, but levelling such allegations against Haryana and creating fear among the people, your politics can stoop no lower..." Shah said in his address at Govindpuri.
Shah said people should press the "kamal" button on pucca houses to each and every jhuggiwala in Delhi," he said.
In another speech, he also attacked the Congress, alleging that the party was against Sanatan Dharma, citing remarks of the party's national president Mallikarjun Kharge, who had mocked Shah about his visit to Mahakumbh and a dip in the Ganga river.
"Taking a dip in the Ganga will not remove poverty," Kharge had said.
