Leakage, overcrowding: Minister inspects schools, slams AAP

Education minister Ashish Sood on Tuesday attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), blaming its much-touted "education model" for the party's defeat in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.

Inspecting government schools in Patparganj — the constituency of former deputy chief minister and education minister Manish Sisodia — Sood pointed to crumbling infrastructure, teacher shortages, and lack of basic facilities as evidence that the "revolution in education" was little more than political theatre.

"When I visited the school in the constituency of the so-called 'father of education revolution', I was told the roof had been awaiting repairs for 1.5 years. That's the reality behind the AAP's claims," Sood told HT, adding that the AAP's education push was limited to "perception management" in a few select schools rather than systemic improvement.
