FINANCE MINISTRY ORDERS PROBE AFTER TN FIRM THREATENS TO STOP OPERATIONS

The finance ministry has ordered a probe into complaints raised on social media by a trading firm in Tamil Nadu, which alleged it was forced to stop operations on account of harassment by customs officials in Chennai.
The finance ministry said ina post on social media platform X on Thursday that the government has taken cognizance of the matter and a senior officer from the revenue department has been deputed fora detailed factual enquiry, hearing the parties concerned, officials and thoroughly examining all relevant documentary evidence”.
