Schools shut as stir intensifies over murder of class 10 student

Protests intensified over the murder of a class 10 student at a private school in Ahmedabad allegedly by his classmate, with more than 150 schools in the Gujarat city remaining shut on Thursday following a bandh called by Hindu right-wing groups and the Sindhi community, to which the deceased boy belonged.

The incident occurred at Seventh Day Adventist School located in the Khokhra area of the city on Tuesday and the victim died during treatment later that night. Police have detained two boys, a class 10 student for stabbing his classmate, and a class 8 student, officers said.
