K’taka to introduce bill permitting online bets on horse races

The Karnataka government is preparing to introduce a bill that would permit licensed online betting on horse-racing events, a move the state says will expand the popularity of digital wagering at race clubs across India.
Officials said betting on horse races is driven 'by skill and knowledge'.

The legislation, which amends the Karnataka Race Courses Licensing Act of 1952, is scheduled to be placed before the legislature during the winter session beginning December 8.
