India expects condemnation of cross-border terror at SCO

PARTICIPATION OF PM IN SCO SUMMIT WILL BRING HIM FACE-TO-FACE WITH CHINESE PRESIDENT XI JINPING AND PAKISTAN PM SHEHBAZ SHARIF
India expects the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin to strongly condemn cross-border terrorism in keeping with the founding principles of the bloc, the external affairs ministry said on Tuesday ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modis visit to China to attend the meeting.
Modi is set to travel to Japan and China between August 29 and September 1, and his participation in the SCO Summit will bring him face-to-face with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The SCO was formed by China, Russia and several Central Asian states in 2001 with the goal of countering terrorism, separatism and extremism.
