Delhi logs 10.5mm excess rainfall for July

Intense showers on Tuesday morning lashed several parts of the Capital leading to waterlogging, traffic, and chaos. With Tuesday's spell, Delhi's rainfall in July has reached the “excess” category.
The city has logged 220.2mm average rainfall in July this year, as against the normal monthly mark at 209.7mm. “Excess” rains were witnessed in Delhi in June and May also.
Safdarjung, the city’s base station, logged 68.1mm of rainfall between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Tuesday, while the Ridge station in north Delhi received a very heavy rainfall spell of 129.8mm, the highest in the Capital on Tuesday. Other stations include Palam which saw 4.6mm rainfall, Lodhi road 72.4mm, Ayanagar 23.4mm, Rajghat 45.6mm, Mayur Vihar 42.5mm and Pusa 37.5mm.
