Cops: Obsessed woman creates elaborate web to stalk her ex-teacher

Allegedly “obsessed” with her former teacher, now principal of a government school, a 22-year-old contractual teacher allegedly faked a cancer diagnosis, her own death, engaged in “occult” practices, and created a fake social media account of a colleague to gain the principal's attention, police said Thursday.

DCP (North) Raja Banthia said the woman, a north Delhi resident, was arrested for forging a fellow teacher's Instagram account, uploading morphed photographs and circulating them among students and staff.

The case began in late August when a 25-year-old teacher complained that someone had created a fake Instagram account in her name, posting morphed images and sending follow requests, police said. A case was registered on September 6 under sections 319 (cheating), 336(2) (forgery) and 356(2) (defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
