26-year-old raped in ambulance, 2 arrested

A 26-year-old woman who fainted during a government recruitment exam was allegedly gang-raped in an ambulance while on her way to the hospital in Gaya district of Bihar, police said on Saturday, adding the ambulance driver and technician has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The incident took place on July 24 when the woman, a resident of Imamganj in Gaya, had appeared for a recruitment drive for home guards in Bodh Gaya area of the district.
During a race as part of the physical examination, the woman lost consciousness, police said
“When the woman fainted, she was rushed to the Anugrah Narain Medical College and Hospital at Gayaji in an ambulance,” city superintendent of police (SP) Ramanand Kumar Kaushal said.
