High to moderate voting in bypolls to 8 constituencies

By-elections to eight assembly constituencies across six states and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir concluded on Tuesday, with high to moderate turnout being recorded in the bypolls, results of which will not have any bearing on the respective governments.
Bypolls were held for Budgam and Nagrota assembly seats in J&K, Anta in Rajasthan, Ghatsila in Jharkhand, Jubilee Hills in Telangana, Nuapada in Odisha, Dampa in Mizoram, and Tarn Taran in Punjab.
According to data shared by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on its voter turnout app, Budgam and Nagrota saw a turnout of 50.02% and 75.08%, respectively, Anta recorded 80.21% voting, it was 74.63% in Ghatsila, 48.49% in Jubilee Hills, 81.63% in Nuapada, 83.07% in Dampa and 60.95% in Tarn Taran.
The final turnout figures may increase as a number of voters were in queue even after the official voting hours, officials said.
