ED conducts raids in T’gana sheep scheme case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted a series of raids across eight locations in Hyderabad in the alleged irregularities related to the sheep distribution scheme during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government in Telangana, officials familiar with the development said.

The raids were conducted on the locations of the alleged middlemen and beneficiaries who were identified through a money trail in the investigation.

Asenior official of the Telangana police said the ED was probing the possible money laundering in the sheep distribution scheme under the Pre-

vention of Money Laundering ‘Act (PMLA), 2002, based on the first information report filed by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in February 2024.
