{ ANDHRA PRADESH } CAG REPORT Jagan points to shaky financial performance

Former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday expressed concern about the financial position of the state, as per the key indicators for the first quarter of 2025-26 financial year uploaded by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

Quoting the CAG report for the first quarter ending June 30, Jagan wrote in a post on X that the state revenues from different categories have demonstrated dismal growth on a year-on-year basis.

“The growth was subdued amongst all the categories of Government revenues, resulting ina lacklustre both in state government's own tax revenues and non-tax revenues during the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26,” he said.

‘As per the CAG report, the state’s revenue from goods and services tax (GST) including CGST and SGST, for the first quarter (April-June) was 27,914.07 crore, as against 28,286.16 crore collected during the corresponding period in 2024-25 (when YSRCP was in power in the state) — a fall of ~4.49%.
