Ladders used by builder to spy on his ex

A builder climbed ladders to spy on his former partner in an upstairs room of her Bothwell home.

Hamilton Sheriff Court, pictured, heard that Darren McVey ignored a string of court orders as he hounded the woman for weeks.

Sinead Corrigan, prosecuting, said the woman was making dinner for herself and a child around 6pm on Hogmanay. She heard knocking on the first-floor window of the house in Langside Court.

Ms Corrigan told the court: “She turned around and saw the accused chapping and waving through the window.
