Clean-up crews are on the roads

Dedicated teams are out clearing litter and waste from rural roads around South Lanarkshire.

Clean-up crews started around East Kilbride last week and the council's annual rural roads programme will move on to Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Clydesdale, Larkhall, Strathaven and Hamilton in the coming weeks.

Councillor Robert Brown, chair of the council's Community and Enterprise Resources Committee said: "Our teams work hard throughout the year trying to keep our environment clear from dumped litter and rubbish.
