Brute lashes out in heated row over dog

A man attacked his partner and stepdaughter after a row over a dog at their Larkhall home.

James McCarron, 41, who has a long list of previous convictions, appeared from custody at Hamilton Sheriff Court, pictured above.

He admitted assaulting a woman, 39, and another 18-year-old female at the house in Machanhill View on July 14 last year.

Aga Mathieson, prosecuting, said the violence flared at around 10am.

She told the court: "There was a heated argument about a dog.
