OZ SPIN WIZARD WINS DAWSON SALUTE
Gwent Gazette
|May 29, 2025
RICHARD Dawson hailed the quality of Matt Kuhnemann after the spinner steered Glamorgan to another impressive win inside three days.
-
The Australian came into the Welsh county’s side in place of the unavailable Ben Kellaway, and made an immediate impact as his six-wicket haul propelled Glamorgan to a 10-wicket victory over Middlesex at Sophia Gardens.
The victory - Glamorgan’s third in a row - has lifted them firmly into the promotion picture in division two of the Rothesay County Championship.
It was another fine performance by the home side, who scored 383 in their first innings thanks to centurions Sam Northeast and Kiran Carlson.
They then dismissed Middlesex for 155 and 235, with the visitors succumbing in their second innings as Kuhnemann took centre stage with a spell of 6-53.
The spinner now departs to prepare for the World Test Championship final, where Australia will face South Africa at Lord’s next month.
