Probe ordered into Kerala medical college fire

Kerala's Minister for Health Veena George ordered an investigation by technical experts into the fire mishap and ensuing smoke that forced authorities to shift more than 37 patients to nearby hospitals on Friday.
According to the minister, a short circuit or internal issues with the UPS battery are suspected to have caused the fire in the new building of Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
"Technical experts from the Electrical Inspectorate will conduct a detailed examination to determine the exact cause. Currently, forensic experts are investigating the site," George said while addressing media persons on Saturday.
