Plan to improve Sharjah roads 'being implemented'

A comprehensive plan aimed at improving the emirate’s road infrastructure is being implemented, Eng. Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), revealed.

According to the plan, a number of single-lane roads would be converted into dual carriageways and connected directly to main roads, thereby enhancing traffic flow and meeting the growing needs of the population, he said.

SRTA is continuously working to implement vital projects in all areas of the emirate and the latest project completed was the development of Abu Amr Al Basri Street in the Al Rahmaniya suburb, in front of the Rahmaniya Mall, Al Othmani said during a conversation with the Direct Line programme.
